


“DJing is when I can be totally focused in on something and really paying attention,” Zetina said.

She said she saw a need for more music that blended House and techno with other influences and began playing those kinds of songs as a DJ and creating her own. “Getting involved in these spaces was great for me because I learned that I didn’t have to sacrifice what I wanted for my music for the spaces I wanted to be in.” “There are so many places where there’s a set sound of what queer people are supposed to listen to, and at the time, I think that was even more true than it is now,” Zetina said. When Zetina moved to the Chicago area in 2008, she quickly gravitated toward queer nightlife where she found a community with other creatives who shared her love for multi-genre electronic music, she said.
